A Homeowner’s Guide to the Proper Installation of Wall Mounted Faucets

Wall mounted faucets are ideally installed in bathrooms with small counters. These space-efficient bathroom faucets can surely help you maximize your bathroom’s counter space. Installing one is fairly a straight-forward task that can be accomplished with a little know-how and the use of the right tools. On that note, here is a detailed step-by-step guide that will help you commence with the proper faucet installation.
Step #1: Gather all the needed tools and materials.

To properly install wall-mount bathroom faucets, you will most likely need the following items:

* A complete wall-mount faucet set (this often include the mounting screw, handles, and other vital faucet components)
* hot and cold tap
* drilling machine
* wrench
* pencil and ruler

Step #2: Consider the existing plumbing connections and water supply.

Before you commence with the actual installation process, it is important that you determine if the existing pipe lines and plumbing connections in your bathroom can accommodate a wall-mount installation. Bear in mind that the water lines should run through the wall so they can effectively reach the faucet. Therefore, if you plan to replace an old countertop sink faucet, you need to hire an experienced plumber to relocate the plumbing lines behind the wall.

Step #3: Decide how high you want to mount the faucet.

It is important that you place your bathroom faucet on a desirable height --- not too high or too low. Consider the people who will be using the faucet to figure out the appropriate faucet height. As a rule of thumb, maintain at least a one inch gap between the bottom of the faucet and the top part of the sink. Mark the area where you plan to install the faucet with a pencil and then use a drill to create holes on the wall.
Step #4: Securely attach the faucet and its mounting hardware.

Attach the faucet’s spout to the wall plate and then connect the water lines to the hot and cold faucet outlet. Position the washer and other hardware accordingly (refer to the faucet’s instruction for a detailed guide).
Step #5: Tighten the bolts

With the use of the wrench, securely fasten the bolts onto the wall. Once done, attach the faucet handles and tighten them in a clockwise motion. Finally, open the main water valve to test if you have successfully installed your new wall mounted bathroom faucet.

Vessel Sinks

If you haven't heard of them by now then you are missing out on the latest bathroom rage. Yes they are both functional and beautiful at the same time. The item that we are speaking of is the vessel sink
Vessel sinks are actually part throwback and part modern. They remind many people of the old wash basins that were used in bathrooms for centuries prior to the wide spread use of modern plumbing. These old sinks would hold water that would be used to wash hands in and even wash other body parts such as faces. Nowadays however, the vessel sink combines both the charm of these old time wash basins but also a modern touch as well. These sinks can be made of glass, they can be made of stone, copper, and many other materials. They can even be custom built in unique shapes sizes and colors. The possibilities are literally limitless.
These sinks usually come with a special vessel sink faucet. These special faucets can either be connected to the wall or to the countertop itself. The thing that makes them distinctive is the fact that they are not connected in any way to the sink itself. Unlike traditional sink faucet combinations the vessel faucet is designed to complement the sink but be its own piece of independent artwork at the same time. These sinks are really gorgeous and if you can afford one I would highly recommend springing for one. It will surely be a big hit!

Here are some images of very popular vessel sinks:

The above examples give you a good idea of the variety of vessel sinks that are available to today's consumer. These sinks can truly turn into the focal point of any washroom. Not only do they add beauty but they are also a conversation starter. You will literally be the envy of the neighborhood once your friends, neighbors, and family lay their eyes on your beautiful bathroom centerpiece.
